The 11th Middle East eVis Pre-Moot!
February 21 – 27, 2021
“Transcending the Conventional”
The Annual Middle East Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot is the first Pre-Moot program of its kind, dedicated to cultivating competitive Vis Moot teams from jurisdictions underrepresented in the global arbitration community. It is a 9-month comprehensive program directly targeting law students from those jurisdictions.
The program focuses on developing the students’ analytic thinking, instilling in them leadership qualities, and infusing core skills needed to succeed professionally and become the next generation of arbitration practitioners in their respective jurisdictions. The program also promotes commercial law and the peaceful resolution of disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods.
The Pre-Moot competition is an integral part of the program and aims to ensure that participating teams have the adequate skills to compete fairly in the Vis Moot.
At the onset of the COVID pandemic, the Pre-Moot proved its resilience by smoothly transitioning the program virtually for its 10th edition.
This year, the Pre-Moot is “Transcending the Conventional,” turning the on-going COVID problem into a newfound opportunity. The Pre-Moot curated a comprehensive virtual program with innovative pedagogy while enabling students to access renowned resources and networks beyond imagination, all of which has sparked global connections between students, faculties, lawyers, and arbitrators.
It is a program led by students from over 20 countries, transcending conventional communication methods, learning, and collaborating, all through nurtured co-opetition.
We are proud and delighted to welcome you this year to the 11th edition of the Middle East Pre-Moot, 2nd COVID-free edition.
